If you want to try some local things when you are in Malta, you can definitely visit the Sunday market at Marsaxlokk. This is a very cool place where you will find seafood and it is an excellent way of getting an authentic taste of life on the island. The best time to visit is at sunrise when the fishermen are coming in with their catch.

Take the bus

In case you do not have a lot of time, the best way to explore Malta is to take the hop on, hop off bus tour. There are two different routes, North Malta and South Malta and you can see all the important sites.
